GDC, Week 4: Photonovel

As simple as it sound Photonovel is a novel but in forms of images and with dialogue in enclosed bubbles.(Collins English Dictionary, n.d.) It's similar to comics, but instead of illustration the use photo's and images.

On this project we'll be focusing on a theme Outsider. And the aim of the project is to seek a true story by interviewing people based on their experience as an outsider, and create a Photonovel based on the story itself. And another requirement for the project that I find interesting is to only use one Model for the Photonovel only! Which is quite a challenge cause you'll either need a body double or Photoshop skills to create the other character.

Right now there's a few topic I had in mine based on the theme Outsider:

- Old Age: Grandparents living with family but still left alone.

- LGBTQ: Living in a Asian household as a queer.

- Relationship with a wide Age Gap: Getting married to someone a decade or more older.

Requirements for the Photonovel:

- softcover

- staple bound (saddle stitch)

- document size = 148mm x 210mm

- 36 pages (+ cover)

- interior pages: 1 colour maximum

- cover: 1 colour minimum

- one model throughout (to portray more than different roles/characters)
